Speed & Strength Training


Patrick Mulcahy, former Professional Soccer Player, Core Strength Resist-A-Ball and Resistance Strength Training Certified, has teamed with Tom Labonville CSCS owner of TS Performance Training http://www.tsperformancetraining.com/ . Together they will teach and train you to maximize your speed, strength, explosiveness, and endurance in order to peak athletically for your sport while reducing your risk of injury.

Today's sports science tells us 1) that conditioning is the result of training our three energy systems and 2) that functional athletic strength is the combination of muscle strength, nervous system activation, elastic energy conservation, and proper mechanics. 

In conditioning, most people don't understand the physiology of energy systems.  Similarly, with functional athletic strength, today's athletes don't train all 4 aspects thus shorting their athletic potential.  For this reason, it is extremely important to both educate and provide the opportunity to implement, under supervision, proper training strategies to help foster injury resilient complete athletes.

 
Each session of the program is set up into 4 phases: 1) sessions start with a warm-up, working on muscle temperature, joint range of motion, and body alignment.  2) move into plyometric and coordination training while the nervous system is in a non fatigued state. 3) movement mechanics (knee punch, torso position, foot strike, and hip extension) are trained.  4) strength or conditioning or a combination of both is included.
